David R. Studt Obituary
David R. Studt, 84, of Allegheny Township, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Son of the late Harry W. Studt Jr. and Elsa (Peterson) Studt (and stepmother, Lovina (Gerst) Studt). He was born December 28, 1941, in Pittsburgh, PA.
David was an owner/operator steel hauler, with various smaller companies then 27 years leased to Landstar Trucking (Rockford, Illinois), before retiring in 2015. Over his driving career, he earned the “1 Million Mile” safe driving award. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder. David was always willing to help and volunteered to do anything that needed done at church or for a friend in need. He was always looking for that next project to complete. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anne M. (Winkelbauer) Studt of Allegheny Township; a son, Michael Studt of Verona; a daughter, Katie Van Essen (Chris) of Allegheny Township; two grandsons, Kace and Cole Van Essen; and a sister, Karen Evanoff (Mike) of Rescue, California.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. A public memorial service will be held by the family at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, 1900 State Route 356, Leechburg.
