David Lee Coyle, 92, of Leechburg, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Concordia of Fox Chapel.
A son of the late Bernard and Maude Coyle, he was born April 7, 1930 in Indiana, PA.
David was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as a roller on the Z mill by Allegheny Ludlum Steel in West Leechburg and Vandergrift for over 40 years before retirement in 1997. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leechburg, the Kiskiminetas Masonic Lodge 617 in Vandergrift for 58 years, the American Legion Schenley-Freeport Post for 38 years, the Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle for 57 years, and lifetime member of the VFW Post 566 in Vandergrift.
David enjoyed being a “man of all trades” and advocate of firearms, piloting small aircraft, walking his dogs, and taking care of race horses in youth. But above all, he was a true family man, who loved spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, John E. Coyle (Eileen) of Conneautville; two daughters, Martha Jane Cline of Leechburg, LeeAnn Kohler (Jeffery) of Leechburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Isabel E. (Eagleson) Coyle in 2013; a daughter, Margaret Ann Coyle in 1962; and three sisters.
Friends will be welcomed by his family on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051 with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, at the funeral home, prior to funeral ceremonies beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sara Wrona officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Rd., Lower Burrell with military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
