Darrell C. Crofutt, Sr., 78, of North Apollo, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville.
A son of the late Charles Crofutt and Julia (Coulter) Crofutt, he was born February 7, 1945 in Apollo, PA.
Darrell was a proud Air Force Veteran who retired after 20 years of service. He was then employed as a machinist by Rearick Tooling Inc. in Spring Church. He was Protestant by faith. He was a member of the VFW Post #566. Darrell had a wonderful sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes on his family. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and boating. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Beverly (Henry) Crofutt of North Apollo; children, Darrell C. Crofutt, Jr. (Beth) of Apollo, Annette Lanning of Apollo; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Debra Hill (David) of South Buffalo Township; sister-in-law, Leora Crofutt of Homosassa, FL; brother-in-law, George Runkey of North Apollo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eldon Crofutt and Richard Crofutt; sister-in-law, Muriel Crofutt; and his sister, Anita Runkey.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery, 717 Highland Ave., Apollo, PA 15613 with Stephen Rearick officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.
