Dale Richard Klingensmith, 72, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, in his residence.

A son of the late James Lewis “Snuff” Klingensmith and Irene (Shearer) Klingensmith, he was born on September 7, 1952, in New Kensington, PA.

Dale had been employed as a correction officer at the Armstrong County Jail in Kittanning until his retirement.  He was a member of the Salvation Army Church in New Kensington and the Parks Township Fire Police.  Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching old time movies and the Pittsburgh Steelers play.  He treasured spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Vickie Louise (Juart) Klingensmith of Gilpin Township; children, Scott Klingensmith (Paula), Jami Womer (John), Adam Coleman (Deanna), Jennifer Brown (Joel Sr.); grandchildren, Chloe (Luke), Joel Jr. (Allison), Joseph (Samantha), Josie (Jeremy), Nate (Madison), Tanner, Alleccia, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Camdyn (due in May), Tucker, Gunner, Charlotte, Mason, Jaxon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha June Fetterman; a son and daughter-in-law, Clifton and Racheal Coleman.

Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  A Celebration of Life service for Dale will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Parks Township Firehall.
