Chester Alan Lewandowski, 73, of Allegheny Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in his residence.
A son of the late Walter F. Lewandowski and Mildred (Tarhi) Lewandowski, he was born on August 6, 1951, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Chess was a longtime resident of Allegheny Township, but grew up in Verona, graduating from Verona High School. He worked at Forbes Regional Nursing Center for 18 years before retiring to take care of his parents. After their passing, he returned to work at UPMC Seneca for another 10 years. Chess loved animals; he could make friends with any animal. He also loved gardening and being surrounded by nature.
He is survived as the beloved brother of Joanne Hendrix (Steve) and Jim Lewandowski (Marge); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his partner, George Benemann; and brothers, Bob (Marlene) and Walt Lewandowski.
All arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. Private interment will be made at the convenience of the family.
