Cheryl A. (Gaydeski) Lorenz

Cheryl A. (Gaydeski) Lorenz, 75, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

A daughter of the late John Raymond Gaydeski and Jeanna Elaine (Mazia) Gaydeski, she was born January 31, 1946, in Natrona Heights.

Cheryl was a member of the first graduating class of Kiski Area High School in 1963.  She was of the Catholic faith.  On September 14, 1963 she married Louis James Lorenz at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift.  Cheryl participated wholeheartedly in her children’s activities by being a member of the P.T.A., Mother’s Club, Band Boosters and a Girl Scout Leader.

Her life’s joy was doing everything and anything with kids, especially spoiling her family and spending time with her great-grandchildren.  Cheryl was fond of trips to Salamanca with Kathy, reading, cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting and running the sweeper.  She also liked to gamble, including playing cards and bingo.

Survivors include her husband, L. James Lorenz of Gilpin Township; her children, Lori Barsic (Ernie Duncan) of Gilpin Township, Christine Heinle (Brian Batiz) of Hyde Park, Louis James Lorenz Jr. of Gilpin Township; five grandchildren, Natalie Heinle (Josh Deemer) of Spring Church, Gabrielle Walker (DJ) of Marienville, Tyler Heinle of Clarion, Damia Lorenz of West Leechburg, Daxton Lorenz of Gilpin Township; four great-grandchildren, Tracton James Walker, Brylee Brooke Walker, Kinsley Ann Walker, Waylon James Ruffini; two brothers, John Gaydeski of North Carolina, Ronald Gaydeski of Florida; a sister, Glenna Ruzbacki of Gilpin Township; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Barsic in 2010.
