Catherine A. (Burlando) Hubert, 95, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of the late Joseph V. Burlando and Louise (Tardivo) Burlando, she was born May 31, 1928 in Rimersburg, PA.

Catherine was a graduate of the former Mason Felix Beauty School in New Kensington.  She operated Catherine’s Beauty Salon in her home during her younger years before becoming a homemaker and mother.  She loved flower gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially in the summer on her front porch or backyard patio.  She was a sports fan who enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates and Steelers.  Catherine also enjoyed her canine companion, Louie (a basset hound), and the neighborhood cats.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Anita Navarro and her loving and wonderful son-in-law, Erick Navarro of Gilpin Township.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. “Gene” Hubert in 1995.

Per Catherine’s request, private services for the family will be held at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with interment made at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
