Carol Ann (Nebelung) Camp Obituary

Carol Ann (Nebelung) Camp, 85, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in her residence.


A daughter of the late Lawrence Nebelung and Ethel (Zeitz) Nebelung, she was born on October 10, 1939, in LaPorte, Indiana.


Carol was a member of Forks Zion Lutheran Church in Gilpin Township.  She served in the U.S. Army as a nurse.  She had been employed as an assistant manager of the Dairy Queen in Allegheny Township for over 40 years until her retirement in 2020.  Carol was a very active member of the Gilpin Township Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies’ Auxiliary for more than 50 years.  She enjoyed serving the community, playing bingo, watching Pittsburgh sports, as well as being an avid Notre Dame fan.


Survivors include her four sons, Lawrence H. Camp (Darlene) of Gilpin Township, James C. Camp of Gilpin Township, Jeffrey L. Camp of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, William R. Camp (Heather) of Sarver; a daughter, Beverly A. Gray (Donald) of Leechburg; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Stonkus of Brockton, Massachusetts, Alice James of Schererville, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James H. Camp in 2006; siblings, Robert Nebelung, Charles Nebelung, Ruth Martin, and infant sister, Beverly Nebelung.


Friends will be welcomed by her family on Thursday, March 13, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, at Forks Zion Lutheran Church, 253 Forks Church Road, Gilpin Township, with Interim Pastor David Rike officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carol may be made to the Gilpin Township Volunteer Fire Dept., 113 Firehall Road, Leechburg, PA  15656.
