Brandy Elois Myers, also known to many in the Native American communities as “Weeasayha,” was born in Woodland, California, on July 4, 1940 and passed away in Kittanning, PA, on December 30, 2023.
For the past 48 years, Brandy was a resident of Armstrong County, PA. She retired from working in the state and federal corrections institutions as a Native American Chaplain. She was very involved with Children and Youth Services and Adelphi Children Services. Along with her husband, they were foster parents for many years in Armstrong County, having over 80 children in their care over the years.
In her earlier years, she worked as an officer for Wells Fargo. Brandy enjoyed studying and teaching Native American history, customs and cultures, and also being a student of American history. She made and sold Native American jewelry, arts and crafts; and was an active advocate for animal welfare.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dean M. Myers of Kittanning and his family, sons, Charles “Chip”, Malcom “Kye”, David “Randal”, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and her many Native American families.
Arrangements are all private and have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
