Betty M. (Prunty) Shipman, 86, of Gilpin Twp., passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.
A daughter of the late Walter Prunty and Dortha (Klingensmith) Prunty, she was born October 10, 1934, in Georgetown, PA.
Betty was a former member of the Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a former graduate of Leechburg High School. Betty had many hobbies including reading, doing puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Jack L. Shipman, Sr. of Gilpin Twp; three sons, Jack L. Shipman, Jr. (Deborah) of Leechburg, William F. Shipman (Kimberley) of Hyde Park, Robert D. Shipman (Gena) of Gilpin Twp; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Fred Prunty of Leechburg, Gary Prunty (Gerianne) of Bethel Twp.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William Prunty, Paul Prunty, and Alan Prunty.
Friends will be welcomed by her family on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, at the funeral home with Elder Hosea Nabors, associate minister at Kings Deliverance Holiness Church, North Vandergrift, as celebrant. Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park.
