Betty Jean (Bracken) Rimmel Obituary

Betty Jean (Bracken) Rimmel, 93, of Allegheny Township, PA, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, in her residence.


A daughter of the late Homer G. Bracken and Annie L. (Pugh) Bracken, she was born on May 26, 1931.


Betty was a homemaker and longtime member of the former Calvary Presbyterian Church in Leechburg, where she served as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member and President of the Women’s Association at the church for over 25 years.  Currently, she was a very active member of the Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg.  Family was paramount in her life, and her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.


Survivors include her son, William J. Rimmel (Patricia) of Brick Church; daughters, Janet A. McKinley (Jeffrey) of Valley Township (Kittanning), Cynthia Rimmel-Kumpf (Shawn) of Allegheny Township; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William G. Rimmel in 1994; a daughter, Barbara A. Rimmel; and siblings, Leonard Bracken, Donald Bracken, Mildred Perry, Anna “Luella” Akins, Tressa Beers.  Betty was the last of six children.


Family and friends are invited to attend Betty's memorial service being held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main Street in Leechburg.
