Benjamin F. Belfield, 74, of Leechburg, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
A son of the late Charles Albert Belfield and Beatrice (Gindlesperger) Belfield, he was born on December 20, 1951.
Benjamin honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War period. He was an Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class assigned to the USS Independence and then the USS Stonewall Jackson SSBN 634 BLUE, where he completed operator training at the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power School.
He had been employed as a rolling mill operator by Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for over 30 years prior to retirement. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Leechburg. Benjamin enjoyed doing puzzles, watching NASCAR races, traveling on vacations, and going to breakfast at G&G Restaurant in Vandergrift.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kim (Powell) Belfield of Leechburg; a son, Bradley N. Belfield of Leechburg; two stepsons, Chris Anderson of Leechburg, and Chad Anderson of Wexford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sydney L. Belfield in 2007; a daughter, Stacia Belfield; brothers, Charles Leroy and Harry Thomas Belfield; four sisters, Gertrude, Martha Pal, Alta and Frances Diane Belfield.
Friends will be welcomed by his family on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 5-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. Private interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Township.
