Albert Robert Martinisko Obituary

Albert Robert Martinisko, 93, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Leechburg, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Arizona Shining Star Assisted Living in Phoenix.


A son of the late Andrew Martinisko and Regina (Vorko) Martinisko, he was born March 8, 1928 in Leechburg, PA.


Albert was a 1945 graduate of Leechburg High School and a 1953 graduate of the University of Arizona-Tucson.  He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during both World War II (in the Southwest Pacific Theatre) and the Korean War. He had been employed as an electrical engineer by Salt River Project in Phoenix, AZ for 38 years before retiring in 1989.  Albert was of the Catholic faith.  He enjoyed hunting, reading and working on his computer.


Survivors include many nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Castleberry) Martinisko in 2010; a brother, Milan “Ming” Martinisko; sisters, Madeline Rice, Margaret Martinisko and Mary Freilino.


Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 5, at St. Catherine Cemetery, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township.  The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, has been entrusted with local arrangements.
