A. Silvio Odasso

A. Silvio Odasso, 89, formerly of West Leechburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Concordia Lutheran Health & Human Care in Cabot.

A son of the late Peter Odasso and Mary M. (Camparo) Odasso, he was born May 21, 1932 in Bagdad (Gilpin Township).

Silvio served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was a 1959 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.  He had been employed as Vice President of Engineering by Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. for 33 years before retiring in 1992.  He was a Civil Professional Engineer as well as a Registered Surveyor.  Silvio was a member of Christ The King Parish in Gilpin Township, the Marconi Club in Leechburg, the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Dept., the Engineers Society of Western PA; and the Association of American Iron & Steel Engineers.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Ellen J. (Gallo) Odasso of Cabot; two sons, Michael Odasso (Teri Emminger) of Leechburg, David Odasso M.D. (Stephanie Orsilli) of Waynesburg; two granddaughters, Kameron (Christian Miller) and Taylor Odasso, of Kittanning; and a brother, Richard P. Odasso (Doris) of West Leechburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Mario Odasso.

The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, PA for the excellent care they provided during Sil’s residence there.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 from 2-6 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ The King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. as celebrant.  Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Silvio may be made to Christ The King Parish, 125 Park Road, Leechburg, PA 15656 or to the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Dept., 1116 Gosser Street, West Leechburg, PA 15656.  Condolences to the Odasso family may be offered at www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.
