Vito M. Notarnicola

Vito M. Notarnicola, 93, of West Leechburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 in his residence.

A son of the late Nicola Notarnicola and Mary (Bruno) Notarnicola, he was born April 5, 1926 in Vandergrift, PA.

Vito was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served as a Seaman First Class for over two years in the South Pacific during World War II.  He had worked as a pipe fitter with Wean United in Vandergrift for 28 years before retiring in 1981.  Vito was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his son, Nick Notarnicola of West Leechburg; a daughter, Marie Notarnicola of West Leechburg; and a sister, Alice Lookabaugh of Cabot.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne L. (Gurecka) Notarnicola on May 18, 2018; a brother, Donald Notarnicola; and two sisters, Ann Corsi and Angeline Simon.

Private visitation and funeral ceremonies were held at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Interment was held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell with military rites conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
