Veta Victoria (Marinas) Mrazik

Veta Victoria (Marinas) Mrazik, 91, formerly of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank J. Mrazik.

A daughter of the late Peter Marinas and Johanna (Matich) Marinas, she was born June 15, 1927 in Black Lick, PA.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter J. and John M. Marinas; and an infant sister, Anna Marie.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Mallary (Richard) of Pittsburgh, PA and Donna Confort (Paul) of Washington, PA; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Veta had been employed as a sales clerk with W.T. Grant and J.C. Penney in Lower Burrell before retiring in 1973.  She was a member of the former St. Martha Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg and the church’s Ladies Guild.  Veta enjoyed baking Christmas cookies, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles, rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and playing 500 Rummy with her family.

Friends welcomed by her family on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 2-6 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 8, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Twp., with the Reverend Arnel Estrella officiating.  Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp.
