Thomas Ray Yohe, 73, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh.
A son of the late Ray A. Yohe and Genevieve R. (Pletcher) Yohe of Gilpin Twp., he was born June 29, 1944 in Kittanning, PA.
Thomas was a 1962 graduate of Leechburg High School. He had also attended the Slippery Rock University and Suomi College. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Thomas had been employed as a road maintenance worker with the Houghton Road Commission in Michigan and had also worked in Quality Control for Arco Medical for a time. He was a member of Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg, the V.F.W. in Freeport and the American Legion in Schenley. Thomas enjoyed gardening and cooking. He always loved watching the Leechburg Football games while standing by the Press Box.
Survivors include his mother; his two sons, Sean T. Yohe (Letty) of Jackson, Wyoming, and Matthew A. Yohe (Laura) of Calumet, Michigan; a grandson, Colton Yohe; three granddaughters, Megan, Jenna and Myra Yohe; a brother, Jon S. Yohe (Debra) of Slippery Rock, PA; and his longtime companion, Sandra Fetterman of Leechburg.
Friends welcomed by his family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from Noon until the time of services at 2 PM at Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 Main Street, Leechburg, with the Reverend Ryan Pusch officiating. Interment following at Evergreen Cemetery, 620 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp. with military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 Main Street, Leechburg, PA 15656.
