Steve Solonickne, 96, formerly of West Leechburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 28, 1921, in West Leechburg, PA.

Steve had been employed at the Allegheny Ludlum West Leechburg Works for 40 years before retirement.  He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Coast Guard.   Steve was a wonderful husband and father, a true gentleman and family man who was loved by everyone he met.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Dolly Solonickne; his granddaughters, Robin Mansor (John) and Jill Rakoci (John); and four great-grandchildren, Leah Mansor, Ava Mansor, Ella Mansor and Avery Rakoci.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Ann (Stano) Solonickne.

As per the family’s request, visitation and funeral will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Steve may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090.
