Stan Jerich, 78, of Springdale Twp., PA and Seven Springs, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Grove City Medical Center.

A son of the late Charles Jerich and Louise (Saltysiak) Jerich, he was born November 17, 1938, at home in Acmetonia, PA.

Stan was a graduate of Springdale High School and St. Vincent College.  A U.S. Army Veteran, he was stationed in Korea after the War in the early 1960s.  He founded the Jerich Insurance Agency in Leechburg and was principal owner for 33 years, currently being active in the business.  He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Harwick.

Stan’s greatest joy was volunteering and giving to others.  He was happy to have sponsored 227 Make-A-Wish Kids and serve as a Flight 93 Ambassador for 15 years.  He was active and held many positions in community organizations such as the Civil Service Board (Chairman, Springdale Twp.), Seven Springs Volunteer Fire Co. (Captain and EMT), West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Co. (over 30 years member and Secretary), and Allegheny Valley Volunteer Fire Co. (member).

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Emily Ann (Miller) Jerich of Springdale Twp., and Seven Springs, PA; a son, Joseph Jerich (Christine Wittebort) of Cheswick, PA;. a daughter, Connie Jerich of Leechburg, PA; a brother, Frank Jerich (Marge) of Urbana, IN; and a sister, Evelyn Coughenour of Penn Twp. PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susie Jerich (when she was 4 years old); and a brother, Donald Jerich.

Friends welcomed by his family on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 2-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with the West Leechburg and Hyde Park Volunteer Fire Companies conducting a service at 6 PM during visitation.  Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 1319 Low Grade Road, Harwick, with the Reverend Thom Dansak officiating.  Interment following at Deer Creek Cemetery, 902 Russelton Road, Cheswick.
