Richard “Jim” Williams, 81, of West Leechburg, PA, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 in his residence.
A son of the late Elizabeth (Smay) Williams Beaver, he was born October 8, 1936, in Washington, D.C.
Jim was employed as a foreman with Greenland Construction in Clearfield, PA for over 25 years before retirement. He was also owner of the Town Tavern in West Leechburg for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Methodist faith. Jim enjoyed walking in the park, doing yard work, bird watching, feeding the deer, and spending time with his beloved dog, Joey.
Survivors include his daughters, Mary Ann Smith (Jim) of Lyndora, PA, Teresa Mahlon (Richard) of Woodland, PA; four granddaughters, Peggy, Jennifer, Carla, Kelly; three grandsons, Robert, Ed, Steven, 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew Williams of Florida, Danny Williams of New York; two sisters, Betty Jane Smith of North Carolina and Patricia Harris (George) of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Gay (Brown) Williams in July 2017; and two brothers, Russell and David Williams.
Friends welcomed by his family on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). There will be no funeral ceremonies. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
