Myrna Ruth Anderson

Myrna “Ruth” Anderson, 88, formerly of Vandergrift, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Facility in Indiana, PA.

A daughter of the late Vane Anderson and Bessie (Heilman) Anderson, she was born January 5, 1930 in Vandergrift, PA.

Ruth was a 1948 graduate of Vandergrift High School.  She was a member of the former First Reformed Church of Vandergrift.  Ruth had been employed as a sales clerk with G.C. Murphy in Vandergrift before retiring with over 30 years of service.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her niece and nephews, whom she thought of as her own children.

Survivors include her sister, Betty (Wayne) Kough of Shelocta, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Anderson; and sisters, Mildred (Harry) Dailey, Della (William) Magness and Jean (Jack) Wynes.

Visitation and funeral services will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.
