Marilynne L. (Shick) Sikora

Marilynne L. (Shick) Sikora, 84, of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Concordia in Cabot.

A daughter of the late Raymond Blair Shick and Margaret (Smith) Shick, she was born May 17, 1934 in Leechburg, PA.

Marilynne was a 1952 graduate of Leechburg High School.  She had worked at Brestensky’s Meat Market in Freeport for 8 years, at Cline’s Foodland in Allegheny Twp. for 19 years and at Grosso’s Market in Leechburg for 15 years.  She was also owner of Sikora’s Nursery & Landscaping at her Allegheny Twp. residence for 20 years before retiring in 2005.  Marilynne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leechburg, the Leechburg Area Museum & Historical Society and the U.F.C.W.I. Local #23 of Pittsburgh.  She enjoyed helping people in need and was very active in her church work, yard work and writing poetry.

Survivors include her brother, Raymond H. Shick Sr. of Hyde Park, PA; two nephews, Blair D. Shick (Brenda) of Hyde Park, PA and Raymond H. Shick Jr. of Hyde Park, PA; and three great-nieces.  She was also loved and blessed by her neighbors, David, Christina, A.J., Jonah and Zachary Kapinskis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Sikora in February 2017.

Friends welcomed by her family on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 28, with Pastor Jonathan Potter officiating.  Private interment following at Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gilpin Twp.
