Marie Elizabeth (Ardisson) Valentino

Marie Elizabeth (Ardisson) Valentino, 94, of Washington Twp., PA, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in her residence.

A daughter of the late Antonio Ardisson and Margaret C. (Tealdo) Trogolo, she was born December 2, 1923 in Slickville, PA.

Marie was raised in Hyde Park and graduated from Leechburg High School in 1944.  She had worked at the J.S. Finch Schenley Distillery in Gilpin for six years, but retired from the custodial dept. of Kiski Area High School after 23 years of service.  Marie was a member of the Amplify Church and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins play, reading her Bible, completing puzzles and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Margherita E. Schirm (Norman) of Washington Twp., PA and Joelyne A. Altman (Rob) of Allegheny Twp., PA; five granddaughters and a grandson: Melissa E. Phares (Eric) of Allegheny Twp., PA, Christina J. Samay of Leechburg, PA, Karissa E. Valentino of Cambridge, OH, Sally L. Valentino of Cambridge, OH, Sabrina D. Altman of Allegheny Twp., PA and Adam R. Altman of Allegheny Twp., PA; a great-grandson, Matthew E. Samay of Allegheny Twp., PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Joseph G. Valentino; her son, Joseph A. Valentino; and her stepfather, Antonio Trogolo.

Friends welcomed by her family on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with additional visitation on Tuesday, June 19, from 11 AM until the time of funeral ceremonies beginning at Noon at the funeral home with the Reverend Greg Blythe officiating.  Private interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
