Howard K. Hinderliter, 90, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 in his residence.

A son of the late Frank Roy Hinderliter and Monica Irene (Lorenz) Hinderliter, he was born January 30, 1927, in East Brady, PA.

Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a radio operator during World War II.  For 35 years, he had been employed by Alltel before retiring in 1988.  Howard was a member of Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg and the Leechburg Elks (Past Exalted Ruler).  He enjoyed collecting stamps, traveling, fishing and being with his dog Candy.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bronwyn Edda (Yetter) Hinderliter of Leechburg, PA; his son, Kenneth E. Hinderliter of Harrisburg, PA; two daughters, Karen K. Carroll of Leechburg, PA, Sharon A. Myers (David) of Indiana, PA; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla L. Hinderliter; and  a step-sister, Dorothy Crick.

Friends welcomed by his family on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 1-3 PM, the time of funeral ceremonies at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with the Reverend James V. Arter III officiating.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 Main St., Leechburg, PA  15656; or to Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot Inpatient Unit at Concordia, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA  16023; or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
