Harry Joseph Bodnar, 65, of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Latrobe Hospital.
A son of the late Harry Bodnar and Mary G. (Yandura) Bodnar, he was born August 28, 1953, in New Kensington, PA.
Harry was a 1971 graduate of Kiski Area High School and a 1977 graduate of Columbia University in New York City with a degree in Architecture. He later completed studies at the Ohio State University and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh receiving a degree in Occupational Therapy from CCAC in 1996. While at Columbia University, Harry played on the football team as a fullback and linebacker
Harry had been employed as a counselor with the Greensburg Mental Health Association. Later he worked as a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Leechburg, He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp. and enjoyed photography as a hobby.
Survivors include his sister, Carole A. Crowder (David) of Louisville, KY; and two brothers, James A. Bodnar (Kathleen) of Bensalem, PA, and Robert J. Bodnar (Linda) of Sigel, PA. Harry is also survived by his feline companion, Bobo.
Friends welcomed by his family on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 11 AM until the time of a Blessing Service beginning at 1:30 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. officiating. Entombment following at Greenwood Mausoleum, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.
