Georgia Louise (Marks) Hermanson, 85, formerly of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Geidel’s Personal Care Home in North Buffalo Twp. (Kittanning), PA.

A daughter of the late John Wesley Marks and Virginia Pauline (Kepple) Marks, she was born September 4, 1931, in Apollo, PA.

Georgia graduated in 1949 from Vandergrift High School and Airline School in Kansas City, Missouri.  She worked as a reservationist for Branif Airlines in Chicago, Illinois.  In 1954, she married Donald C. Hermanson at Hebron Lutheran Church in Leechburg.  Georgia was active in her church, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, Minnesota, where she sang for many weddings and in the church choir.  She was also a member of the church bowling league in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her sisters, Lois Jean Repine (Robert) of Clarksburg, PA, S. Eileen Marks Caldwell of Berryville, VA, A. Kathleen Marks Nelson (Eugene) of Naples, FL; brothers, John Wesley Marks Jr. of Clarington, PA, Dale LaVerne Marks (Charlene) of Wasilla, AL, Thomas Leland Marks of Sarver, PA, William Luther Marks (Sharon) of Leechburg, PA; and sister-in-law, Donna Jean Marks of Leechburg, PA.

Also surviving are daughters, Beverly Jane Weber (Steven) of Dallas, WI, Julia Faye Preston (Ronald) of Eagle, CO, Joy Dawn King (William) of Savage, MN, Sonja Grace Holmes of Denver, CO; a son, Keith Allen Hermanson of Illinois; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Liuteronoza Corley; and a brother, David Clair Marks.

Funeral ceremonies will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017  at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Memorial Park Chapel, 104 Melwood Rd., Lower Burrell with the Rev. James V. Arter III officiating.  Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 Main Street, Leechburg, PA 15656.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).
