Eileen D. (Nichols) Eshelman

Eileen D. (Nichols) Eshelman, 73, of Hyde Park, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh

A daughter of the late John H. Nichols and Gertrude (Kepple) Nichols, she was born March 19, 1945 in New Kensington, PA.

Eileen was a 1963 graduate of Kiski Area High School.  She had been employed as a receptionist with the former Dr. Courtney Bischoff Dental Office in Leechburg for 10 years.  She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg where she participated in the church’s Altar Guild, assisted with funeral luncheons, and printed the church bulletin. Her memberships also included the Order of the Eastern Star in Freeport, the Allegheny Twp. Community Club and the Hyde Park Women’s Card Club.  She enjoyed traveling as well.

Survivors include her two sons, Alvie E. Eshelman Jr. (Maria) of Gilpin Twp., PA and John E. Eshelman (Michelle) of Lafayette, IN; two grandchildren, Kalee Wray (Travis) and Chelsie Eshelman; two great-grandchildren, Alvie E. Eshelman II and Adalyn Ann Wray; a brother, Donald Nichols (Janet) of Gilpin Twp., PA; a sister, Donna Garber of Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie E. Eshelman Sr. in December 2007; a grandson, Kevin Eshelman; a brother, Kevin Nichols; and two sisters, Carol Hebrank and Diana Tomlin.

Friends welcomed by her family on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Additional visitation will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 358 Main Street, Leechburg, on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM with the Reverend James V. Arter III officiating.  Private interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Twp. at the convenience of the family.
