Dorothy J. (Heilman) George

Dorothy J. (Heilman) George, of Parks Twp., PA, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

A daughter of the late Edward Heilman and Letitia (Linsenbigler) Heilman, she was born February 13, 1922 in Elderton, PA.

Dorothy was a homemaker and member of the Church of God in Vandergrift.  She was a very caring and giving person who was loved by all.  She enjoyed going to the movies and Dairy Queen, shopping for shoes, gardening and playing checkers with her grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons: Jeffrey C. George (Bonnie) of Leechburg, PA, Kenneth N. George (Dolores) of Export, PA and Tyrus K. George (Diann) of Norvelt, PA; three daughters: Sally Peppler (Stanley) of Gilpin Twp., PA, Brentta Sheaffer (Donald) of West Leechburg, PA and Suzanne K. Riggle of Parks Twp., PA; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Clever of Lewisburg, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brenton W. George on May 25, 2002; two sons, Richard B. George and Charles E. George; a grandson, Dirk Sheasley; a granddaughter, Natalie J. George; a great-grandson, Tanner Cieslinski; and two sisters, Mary Miller and Lois Adamik.

Friends welcomed by her family on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 12, with the Reverend Gale Winning officiating.  Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.    Condolences to the George family may be offered at www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.
