Carrie Colleen (Crocker) Sekeres, 83, formerly of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Spirit Trust Lutheran Home Health & Rehab in York, PA.
Born July 23, 1934 in Leechburg, a daughter of the late John Crocker and Fern Adell (Snyder) Crocker, she was the wife of the late Julius “J.W.” Sekeres.
Carrie was a Class of 1952 graduate of Leechburg High School. She was a homemaker who had been employed in the Accounting Dept. for several companies including Alcoa, Allegheny Ludlum and Thomas A. Walker, PC. Carrie was a member of the Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg where she served as teacher and Elder and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her church, her family and her Scottish heritage. She enjoyed flower and herbal gardening.
Survivors include her two sons, Mark William Sekeres (Kathy) of Brookville, PA, and Jason Lee Sekeres (Julie) of York, PA; eight grandchildren: Carrie, Heather, Lindsay, MacKenzie and Jacob Sekeres & Dimitra, Alexandra and George Skouras.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; a brother, John Crocker; and two sisters, Betty Crocker and Audrey Ottenberg.
Friends welcomed by her family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, March 29, at the Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main Street, Leechburg, with the Rev. Gary J. Lyon and the Rev. Lisa J. Lyon co-officiating. Interment following at Evergreen Cemetery, 620 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp.
