Bonnie D. (Stevenson) Defilippi, of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesay, August 22, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born on February 5, 1940 at Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington a daughter of John and Ruth (Reihm) Stevenson.
Bonnie was a member of the Leechburg High School Class of 1958 and graduated from Thiel College and Duquesne University. She taught Spanish for five years each at Springdale and Kiski Area High Schools. At Kiski Area, she was a cheerleading coach in the 1960s and again in the 1980s and 90s. Bonnie enjoyed dining out and the arts, especially attending River City Brass Band concerts and plays at Pittsburgh Public Theater. Her favorite restaurants were the Twisted Thistle, Elena’s and Anna’s.
She enjoyed supporting children, veterans and higher education charities. She also enjoyed time at the Rivers Casino and was featured in a TV commercial. Bonnie was an active member of Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg and was especially devoted to her four grandchildren, always looking forward to their Sunday video call.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Defilippi; her daughter, Jennifer Faulkner (Greg); grandchildren, Samantha, Melanie, TJ and Justin Faulkner; and a sister, Judy Michael (Richard).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carole Lee.
A public Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 Main Street, Leechburg, with Pastor Ryan Pusch officiating. Interment will be held privately for her family.
In memory of Bonnie, donations may be made to Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).
