Betty J. (Ashbaugh) Leap

Betty J. (Ashbaugh) Leap, 71, of Vandergrift, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A daughter of the late Preston Ashbaugh and Verna (Libengood) Ashbaugh, she was born April 2, 1946 in Natrona Heights, PA.

Betty had worked various jobs, starting with the Ann B. Sorisio Tax Service and the West Leechburg Fireman’s Club as well as the Vandergrift VFW.  She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift.  Betty loved her dogs, JoJo and Penny.  She enjoyed working on her computer, going for scenic car rides through the mountains, and especially her daily visits to G&G Restaurant in Vandergrift.

Survivors include a brother, Wayne Ashbaugh of Freeport, PA; a sister, Marjorie Anto of Leechburg, PA; nieces, Lorraine Legarsky (David) of Vandergrift, PA, Carol Beighley (Tim) of Freeport, PA, Jeannie Lewis (Dave) of Leechburg, PA, Lynn Haught (Darwin) of Alaska; nephews,  Alan Ashbaugh (Donna) of Cranberry Twp., PA; Alex Anto of DuBois, PA, Dennis Anto of West Leechburg, PA, Rick Ashbaugh (Denise) of Freeport, PA, and Jim Ashbaugh (Tammy) of Freeport, PA; many great-nieces and great-nephews; many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. “Duck” Leap in November 2014; a brother, Harry P. Ashbaugh; and a sister, Geraldine Wright.

There will be no visitation or funeral ceremonies.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
