Helen Marie (Cochran) Catlos

Helen Marie (Cochran) Catlos, 94, formerly of Gilpin Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Rosebrook Assisted Living in Sarver.

She was born June 5, 1929, to the late Homer and Helen (Maus) Cochran.  Marie was the wife of nearly 50 years to Milan Catlos, who passed away in 2002.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Cochran.

Marie was a member of Forks Zion Lutheran Church since 1954, serving on the council and taught Sunday school for 10 years.  She also served on the board of directors and was a secretary for Leechburg Meals on Wheels.  Marie enjoyed being a member of the Leechburg Senior Center and playing cards with her card club friends.  She enjoyed traveling to Lake Placid, FL, with her husband, where they would spend their winters, square dancing and polka music, as well as being a foster Mom.

Surviving her is a son, Michael Catlos (Tammy) of Bethel Township; a step-granddaughter, Lauren Leskowak; three step-great-grandchildren, Hayes, Aunika and Emmi, all of Leechburg; along with several nieces and nephews.

At Marie’s request, there will be no viewing.  Burial will take place at Forks Church Cemetery in Gilpin Township.  Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Forks Zion Lutheran Church, 253 Forks Church Road, Leechburg, PA 15656.  Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.
