Annabelle (Truffa) Canil, 88, of Allegheny Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh surrounded by her family.
A daughter of the late Louis Truffa and Lucy (Bosco) Truffa, she was born February 27, 1936 in Kiskimere (Armstrong County), PA.
Annabelle was a 1954 graduate of Leechburg Area High School. She had been employed as a telephone operator with Bell Telephone Company in Leechburg. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lower Burrell. Annabelle enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casino.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Herman G. Canil of Allegheny Township; a son, Herman A. Canil (Jennifer) of Mars; daughters, Christina M. Paletta (Kevin Jenkins) of Sewickley, Deanna L. King of Mars; seven grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Krista, Jordan, Kayla, Catherine, Hannah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Truffa.
Friends are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3055 Leechburg Rd., Lower Burrell, with the Rev. Elpidio Alcontin as celebrant. The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, has been entrusted with arrangements. Private interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
