William C. “Chips” Umbaugh, 82 of Parks Twp., PA, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 after losing a battle with cancer to join in heaven with his parents, Charles and Louella “Peg” (Merrell) Umbaugh, brother Lawrence Umbaugh and beloved son, Jerry Umbaugh.

He was born September 18, 1934 in NuMine, PA.  Bill liked riding his tractor and watching Nascar, the Steelers and Pirates and western movies.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy (Lerch) Umbaugh of Parks Twp., PA; daughters, Linda Leonard (Benton Coleman) of Leechburg, PA, Wendy Lowe (William) of Columbia, PA; sons, Thomas Umbaugh (Sharon) of Millsboro, DE, Jeffrey Umbaugh (Kim) of Leechburg, PA, Todd Umbaugh (Cindee) of Vandergrift, PA; daughter-in-law, Mary Umbaugh of Allegheny Twp., PA; 14 grandchildren; 21 ½ great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Umbaugh of Bellingham, WA; a sister-in-law, Marylin Umbaugh of Apollo, PA; several nieces and nephews; and faithful companion Pookie.

There will be no public visitation and services are private.
