Thomas Earl Rimel, 94, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in his residence.

Born October 5, 1921, in Rayburn Township, PA, the son of the late Jesse "Earl" and Leona Goldie (Bell) Rimel.

Thomas was employed for 41-1/2 years, as an Operator 30 Edge Trimmer, for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, Bagdad, PA, before retiring on December 31, 1982. He served during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corp. Thomas was a member and past trustee of the First United Methodist Church, Leechburg, PA; and a member of the Allegheny Ludlum Retirees. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Leechburg Food Bank. Thomas enjoyed wood working, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia M. Rimel, of Gilpin Township, PA; sister, Virginia M. Schultz, of Monteray, CA; 2 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Granchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Catherine (Wikert) Rimel, on February 2, 1995; son, Ronald Rimel, on February 15, 2016; and brother Ralph S. Rimel.

Friends welcomed by his family on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724/842-1051)  Funeral ceremonies will be held on Saturday at 1 PM at First United Methodist Church, 251 Main Street, Leechburg, PA 15656, with his Pastor, the Rev.
