Rose Marie (Ungor) Shea, 71, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in her residence.
A daughter of the late Charles Ungor and Anna T. (Lattanzio) Ungor, she was born August 27, 1945 in Springdale, PA, Allegheny County.
Rose was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg. She had been active in the Scouts and local drug awareness program. She was also a member of the Leechburg Elks, where she was Secretary for more than 10 years, and was noted for being the first woman accepted for membership in over 100 years. She volunteered for the Alle-Kiski Learning Center and became the first woman ever as a Gilpin Township Supervisor. For 42 years, Rose worked as a registered nurse with the Visiting Nurses’ Association. She was an avid reader and devoted grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, fishing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Anthony G. “Jerry” Shea of Leechburg, PA; two sons, Anthony G. Shea Jr. (Kerry Tiedemann) of Leechburg, PA, John Charles Shea (Christine Rock) of Leechburg, PA; a daughter, Diana Lynn Shea of Leechburg, PA; five grandchildren, Anthony G. III, Megan, Ellie, Abigail and Shyanna; three brothers, William “Bill” Ungor (Shirley) of Ohio, John Ungor of California, Robert “Mag” Ungor of New Kensington, PA; a sister, Mary Jendrey (Bill) of New Kensington, PA; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ungor of Valencia, PA; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Louis and Joseph Ungor; and two sisters, Margaret and Susan Ungor.
Friends welcomed by her family on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Jocelyn Johnston officiating. Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.
