Richard Burnheimer, 78, of Plum Borough, formerly of West Leechburg, PA, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 in his residence.

A son of the late Ben Coe Burnheimer and Lula (Conrad) Burnheimer, he was born March 11, 1938, in Leechburg, PA, Armstrong County.

Before his retirement in 1996, Richard had been employed as a dispatcher with Allegheny Ludlum West Leechburg Works for 34 years.  He was a former member of St. Martha Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg.  Richard was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan who enjoyed reading the local daily newspapers, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Wilma (Stewart) Burnheimer of Plum Borough, PA; his daughter, Tammy Lynn Wallace (Eric) of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandchildren, Lochlan and Maeve Wallace; his brother, Ben Burnheimer of Pittsburgh, PA; his sister, Joanne France (Clarence) of Allegheny Twp., PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Rose Marie (Hockenberry) Burnheimer.

Friends welcomed by his family on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday with the Reverend Thomas More Sikora, O.S.B. officiating.  Entombment following at Greenwood Mausoleum, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.
