Marie E. (Bopp) Doyle, 96, of Apollo, PA, formerly of Gilpin Twp., passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

A daughter of the late Harvey Albert Bopp and Mabel Anna (Shaner) Bopp, she was born March 28, 1920, in Leechburg, PA, Armstrong County.

Marie was a homemaker and member of the Kiski Unity Free Methodist Church.  She was a very kind person and friend to many.  Marie was an avid autograph collector of memorabilia and photos of dignitaries and celebrities.  She enjoyed playing the piano, bird watching, Sunday night country gospel at her church and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Survivors include two sons, Phillip E. Doyle Jr. (Marion “Susie”) of Vandergrift, PA, Kevin L. Doyle of Leechburg, PA; two daughters, Sherry M. Townsend (Donald) of Apollo, PA, Deborah L. Gulotta of New Kensington, PA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis A. Bopp of Gilpin Twp, PA; and an aunt, Violet Shutt of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Phillip E. Doyle Sr. on February 14, 2014; two brothers, Lawrence E. Bopp and Chester Bopp; and a sister, Isabelle Shipman.

Friends welcomed by her family on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday with the Reverend Paul F. Eckenrode officiating.  Interment will be made at Greenwood Memorial Park.
