Margaret M. “Margie” Johnston, 95, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Asbury Heights in Mt. Lebanon.

A daughter of the late Harry Kunkle Johnston and Olga Pauline (Schriner) Johnston, she was born March 15, 1922, in Allegheny Twp., PA.

Margie had been employed as a secretary by Westinghouse before her retirement.  She was a very active member of the Pine Run Presbyterian Church in Markle where she served as Clerk of Sessions and participated in the Woman’s Circle.  She was also the church organist who worked with both youth and adult choirs.  Margie had a passion for music and the arts and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Surviving are her cousins, Jane Bachman, Karl Stetter, Helen Stetter, Roy Schriner and Ray Schriner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita R. Johnston in May 2013.

There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Pine Run Presbyterian Church, 1117 White Cloud Road, Markle, PA, with the Rev. Lanny Mellinger officiating.  A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.  Interment will be held privately at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Twp.
