Joseph Tarella, 63, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at West Penn Hospital Hospice Unit in Pittsburgh.

A son of the late George P. Tarella and Adeline M. (Bonello) Tarella, he was born March 15, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Joseph was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp., the Marconi Club in Leechburg, and the American Legion in Schenley.  For over 25 years, he had been employed as an inside salesman with Allied Building Supply.  He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, going to his camp in Tionesta and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Sherry (Speicher) Tarella of Gilpin Twp., PA; his four sons, Dominic W. Tarella of Greentree, PA, Zachary G. Tarella of Oakmont, PA, Devin B. McCartney of Oakmont, PA, Tyler J. McCartney of Butler, PA; a sister, Roseann Skura (Glenn) of Leechburg, PA; and a niece, Amanda Skura of Washington, DC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Tarella.

Friends welcomed by his family on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 10:15 AM on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Twp., with the Reverend Arnel Estrella officiating.  Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp.
