James D. Young, 74, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.

A son of the late John W. Young Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Eshelman) Young, he was born December 27, 1942, in Gilpin Twp., Armstrong County, PA.

James had been a self-employed upholsterer until his retirement in 1994.  He was of the Christian faith.  James enjoyed watching TV and making video tributes.

Survivors include his two brothers, Donald L. Young (Kathy) of Michigan and John W. Young (Mary Ann) of Vandergrift, PA; two sisters, Betty Schantz of Virginia and Marge Schantz of Maryland.

Friends welcomed by his family on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 7, with the Reverend Jocelyn Johnston officiating.  Interment following at Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, 253 Forks Church Road, Gilpin Twp.
