James R. Christopher, 68, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A son of the late James R. Christopher and Cecilia L. (Kolenchak) Christopher, he was born March 27, 1948, in Natrona Heights, PA, Allegheny County.

James was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp., the Vandergrift Golf Course, Leechburg Moose, YMCA, Leechburg Slovak Club, Leechburg Sokol Club, and Kiski Valley Grays Softball Team.  He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and bowled for the Retirees and the Kiski Valley Classic.

Survivors include his son, James R. Christopher Jr. of Virginia; a grandchild, Dakota Christopher; a sister, Renee D. Robinson (Joel) of Allegheny Twp., PA; and a nephew, Nathan Robinson of Allegheny Twp., PA.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Twp., with the Reverend James H. Loew, O.S.B. officiating.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
