Jack Parker Zimmerman, 75, of Allegheny Township, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, in his residence, from COPD.

Born May 19, 1940, in Apollo, PA, the son of the late Jack E. and Nelle (Richards) Zimmerman.

A 1959 graduate of Apollo High School, he was very active with the Music Department and Athletic Department. Jack had a nickname of "Hoagie" growing up which came about from his parents' hoagie shop on Jackson Avenue, in Vandergrift, PA. In 1960, he worked at the Numec Plant, in Apollo, PA and from there he went into sales. His sales began going door to door, in Vandergrift, PA, with the Fuller Brush Company; followed by car sales at Keddie Chevrolet, in Vandergrift, PA, Beyerl Chevrolet, in Monroeville and Andy's Auto Sales, in Natrona Heights, PA. Jack also worked twelve years for food brokers: Tenser, Phipps and Leeper, and Food Marketing Service, in Fox Chapel, PA. He enjoyed watching any kind of sports on television. He traveled to New Orleans, in 1975, for the Super Bowl which along with the Jazz music there, was a highlight of his life. He also enjoyed shooting pool and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Tracy (Zimmerman) Zimmerman; two sons, Joel E. Zimmerman (Tracie Bloom), of Apollo, PA, and Jakeb R. Zimmerman, of Greensburg, PA; two daughters, six grandchildren; his brother, Jerry Zimmerman, of Asheboro, NC; two sisters, Jonni Altmire (Harold), of Apollo, PA, and Joie Clifton (Edward), of Orlando, FL; and his caregivers, Rebekah Skursky and Nancy Skursky, and Louise and Karen with Three Rivers Hospice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Zaski, who passed away in June, 2014.

Friends welcomed by his family on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724/842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 8 PM with the Rev. Scott Fairman officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 1030 Pleasant Hill Road, Allegheny Township, PA 15656.
