Harry H. Hepler Jr., 92, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Concordia of Fox Chapel.
A son of the late Harry H. Hepler Sr. and Florence (Troup) Hepler, he was born July 27, 1924 in Vandergrift, PA, Westmoreland County.
For 40 years, Harry was employed as an inspector foreman with Allegheny Ludlum West Leechburg Works before retiring in 1986. Harry was a former member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Kepple Hill and current member of St. Paul's Highfield Lutheran Church in Parks Twp. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Vandergrift VFW (Honor Guard), American Legion and DAV (Past Commander). Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching hockey and football.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy A. Raypush of Leechburg, PA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ronald Best of Gilpin Twp., PA; two brothers, Richard Hepler (Betty) of North Washington, PA, and Donald Hepler (Patricia) of Natrona Heights, PA; and a sister, Linda Zydonik (Stanley) of Vandergrift, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn E. (Klingensmith) Hepler on February 22, 2008; a daughter, Kathie Best; and a brother, William Hepler
Friends welcomed by his family on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Paul's Highfield Lutheran Church, 1595 Dime Road, Parks Twp., with the Reverend Richard Grance officiating. Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell, with military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
