Survivors include his son, Joseph R. Zachar, of Gilpin Township, PA; very good friends, Johnny Zachar (Jackie), of Gilpin Township, PA, and Randy Baird (Gerry), of Gilpin Township, PA, and his exceptional caretaker, Helen Machen, of Gilpin Township, PA.  He was very fond of her being there for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolf and Mary (Ferrick) Zachar, his wife, Margaret F. Zachar, on February 20, 1998, and his son, Frank S. Zachar, on October 23, 2011.
