Frances Mary (Kubik) Yonek, 96, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Mature Living in Allegheny Twp.

A daughter of the late Frank Kubik and Barbara (Cujdik) Kubik, she was born November 9, 1920, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Frances was a homemaker and member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp. and the former St. Martha’s R.C. Church in Leechburg as well as the CD of A of Leechburg.  She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers sports fan who enjoyed playing the lottery and scratching off instant lottery tickets.  Frances especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Cooper (Michael) of McDonald, PA; a brother, John Kubik (JoAnn) of Denver, CO; three sisters, Margie Winisky (William) of South Carolina, Rose Mary Callahan of Warren, OH, and Sylvia Previni (Raymond) of Apollo, PA; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bartholomew “Bart” Yonek who died on February 4, 1997; three brothers, Joseph, Frank and Charles Kubik; and three sisters, Emily Kubik, Anna Pastiva and Cecilia Urbanec.

There will be no public visitation.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Twp., with the Reverend Ronald Cyktor officiating.  Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp.

Donations in memory of Frances may be made to Animals Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA  15237.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).
