Elizabeth M. (Tomko) Simon, 97, of Vandergrift, PA, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 in her son’s residence.

A daughter of the late Andrew Tomko and Susan (Vallo) Tomko, she was born October 1, 1919, in Slickville, PA.

Elizabeth was a homemaker and member of St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church in Apollo.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, working word search puzzles and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, George A. Simon (Elizabeth) of Allegheny Twp., PA; two granddaughters, Sonya Heasley (Jacob) of West Leechburg, PA, and Melissa Birch (Bradley) of Monroeville, PA; and two great-grandsons, Mark and Joseph Heasley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Simon Jr.; two brothers, Andrew and John; and five sisters, Mary, Susan, Anna, Bertha and Margaret.

There will be no public visitation or funeral ceremonies. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).
