Doris M. (Gilpatrick) Bowser, 88, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

A daughter of the late Harry Gilpatrick and Rose (Craft) Gilpatrick, she was born September 22, 1928, in Punxsutawney, PA.

Doris was a member of Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gilpin Twp.  She grew up living in Punxsutawney and a brief time in Niagara Falls, NY, before the family moved back to Punxsy.  It was there that she met her beloved husband, the late Richard “Dick” Bowser, on a blind date arranged by his aunt.  She enjoyed flower gardening, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Catlos (James) of Gilpin Twp., PA, Gale Ceasar (Dave) of Ambridge, PA; three grandchildren, Jesse Catlos and fiancé Andrea Skomo of Gilpin Twp., PA, Bert Ceasar (Sarah) of New Brighton, PA, and Brandy Ceasar of Ambridge, PA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew Ritchel Klingensmith, who she thought of as a younger brother.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband of 62 years, she was preceded in death by her infant son, James Bowser; and brothers, Earl, Robert “Bob”, Harold, Clarence and Jay.

Friends welcomed by her family on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday with the Reverend Jerrad R. Peterman officiating.  Interment following at Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 253 Forks Church Road, Gilpin Twp.
