Loving wife of Richard Baker, Cheryl A. (Long) Baker, 72, of Markle, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, after a long struggle with many medical issues.  Cheryl lived her life to the fullest despite her many physical limitations.

A daughter of the late Harry E. Long and Florence Z. (Akins) Long, she was born February 12, 1944, in Vandergrift, PA, Westmoreland County.

Cheryl was a homemaker and owner of Cheryl’s Cakes & Cookies.  She also worked for Dobi Catering. Cheryl was a graduate of Leechburg High School and member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg.  She enjoyed baking, parties, camping, playing cards, bird watching, her cats (Scamp, Max, Puffin and Kiko), and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Richard D. Baker of Markle, PA; her sister of the heart, Darlene Dunlap of Allegheny Twp., PA; her two sons Michael O. Baker (Becky) of East Vandergrift, PA, and Kenneth L. Baker of Virginia; her daughter, Jaime A. Hogan (John) of Allegheny Twp., PA; four grandchildren, Jessica R. Baker, Zachary M. Baker, Victoria R. Hogan and Tabytha E. Hogan; and a great-granddaughter, Raven L. Swank.  Cheryl will be greatly missed by family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Long, Gerald Long and Gary Long; and a sister-in-law, Jean Long.

Friends welcomed by her family on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 8:00 PM with the Reverend James V. Arter, III officiating.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
