Cara N. (Bolognia) Baybrook, 70, of Allegheny Township, PA, passed away on Sunday evening, September 13, 2015, in her residence following complications from a history of neurological problems.
Born May 19, 1945, in Kittanning, PA, she was the oldest child of the late Louis and Yolanda (Trombetta) Bolognia.
Cara was raised in Leechburg and graduated from Leechburg High School, class of 1963. She furthered her education at Clarion University where she graduated in 1967 with a Bachelors Degree majoring in elementary education. Later in her career, she was awarded a Masters Degree in Reading from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Cara taught at the Spring Church elementary school at Apollo Ridge and then taught reading at Washington Township Junior High at Kiski Area. After attaining her Masters Degree, she became a reading specialist at Kiski Area. Her teaching career was cut short after 14 years as medical problems forced her to take a disability retirement. Cara was a very passionate and caring teacher. Also in the educational area, Cara served on the Leechburg Area School Board in the early 1970's. She was a member of the Leechburg Marconi Auxillary, enjoyed playing cards, watching the Steelers, listening to Elvis and the Beetles, and watching Star Trek.
Survivors include her husband, of 46 years, Howard E. Baybrook, of Allegheny Township, PA; her son, Alan Baybrook, at home; her brother, Louis Bolognia, of Nashville, TN; and her sister, Sandra Bolognia, of West Palm Beach, FL.
Friends welcomed by her family on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724/842-1051) where parting prayers of transfer will be held on Thursday at 9:15 AM followed by a Christian funeral mass at 10 AM at Christ The King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township with her pastor, the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. officiating. Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068.
